Night Emperors Creation & Artworks
NIGHT EMPERORS is a series of high-realistic yet fantastical illustrations about nightlife that I created and hand-made. Each artwork is a nocturnal scene showcasing bartenders, club owners, patrons, artists, promoters, performers, musicians, and all the hopeless insomniacs that make the New York nightlife so special. The clubs highlighted are Lola, Le Bain, Paul’s Baby Grand, Soho Grand, China Chalet, Et Al, Casablanca, The Box, and Ponyboy.
The project became an INSIDE OUT ACTION, the global art initiative founded by JR in January 2021.
Rachel’s logo, a Punched Discoball, is now viral both online and on people’s clothing (bomber jacket + tees).

Sel-initiated Project
NIGHT EMPERORS is a viral series of nine giant hand-made illustrations capturing New York’s nightlife community. Initiated in 2020, it culminated in a 2021 collab with JR and a TV feature. Each artwork portrays a hyper-real yet fantastical nocturnal scene, spotlighting real people (bartenders, club icons, artists, and insomniacs) who define this scene. Crafted amid the pandemic, the first eight pieces spotlight downtown Manhattan clubs like Lola, Le Bain, Paul’s Baby Grand, Soho Grand, China Chalet, Et Al, Casablanca, and The Box. In 2021, Ponyboy, an iconic Greenpoint bar, joined the series. Artworks have been acquired by Ponyboy, Soho Grand, and Baby Grand, as well as by Paul Sevigny for his private collection.
